San Francisco Seaplane Tour Reviews

Discover Why Seaplane Adventures is one of the Highest-Rated Seaplane Tours in San Francisco

Seaplane Adventures got its start when a returning WWII veteran wanted to share his love of flying on the water, and that same spirit is still what sets a seaplane tour apart from any other way to see San Francisco. Instead of taking off from a runway, you taxi out onto the Bay near the Golden Gate Bridge, lift off the water, and touch back down with a splash when the flight is over. It’s a ride as memorable for how it starts and ends as for what you see in between.

Guests who’ve flown with us describe it best. Aviation buffs drawn to a piece of flying history, families looking for an experience they can’t find anywhere else in the Bay Area, and visitors wanting a San Francisco memory beyond the typical itinerary all come back with the same story: the water landing, the open-air views, and the pilots turned a short flight into one of the best parts of their trip. We have something for everyone. History buffs love our Alcatraz & City Sites Seaplane Tour, sightseeing enthusiasts get to check off a bucket-list item on our Golden Gate Seaplane Tour, and outdoor adventurers love getting away from the city on our Norcal Coastal Seaplane Tour. We even offer something for couples or friends celebrating a special occasion with our Sunset Champagne Seaplane Tour. No matter which tour you choose, we guarantee it’ll be a highlight of your trip!

“It’s hard to say enough great things about this experience! Took the family for the Seaplane ride late on a Sunday afternoon, and the tour couldn’t have been better. Our pilot, Aaron, was incredibly knowledgeable, highly professional, and a ton of fun! I’m a local, but I still learned a ton and got to see some amazing familiar sights from a whole new perspective. My kids will never forget it. Thanks Seaplane!!!”

“I come from a family of pilots and we have traveled a lot. This was one of the best experiences that we have done. 100% the pilot was extremely good and knowledgeable.”

– Roberto T., seaplane tour guest

“This was, by far, one of life’s most magical experiences. The coastline and scenery is stunning and the pilot very very knowledgeable. Was amazed from start to finish on this beautiful DeHavilland planes. If you don’t do this, you’re mad!”

– Phillip A., seaplane tour guest

We had an amazing time seeing San Francisco and the Bay from the sky with Seaplane and Aero adventures. Captain Mike was great and provided a lot of useful information during our flight. To see the City and the Bay from above os truly a magical experience.

This was the highlight of our Keys vacation! 30 minutes to Fort Jefferson, we flew over ship wrecks, tons of marine life, all fully narrated by the pilot. This made the visit to Dry Tortugas and Fort Jefferson even better. The take off and landing was super smooth and now we can say we flew is a sea plane. This is well worth the extra money when compared to the ferry!! You will not regret choosing Sea Plane Adventures!!

I was gifted a sea plane tour for my birthday, which was a wonderful surprise. We were fortunate to have clear skies, and saw Karl the fog hanging in the distance. Our pilot Aaron was an absolute hoot, mixing in dad-jokes with Bay Area history and pointing out ALL the landmarks. It's an amazing perspective to view the sites and neighborhoods I've been to from the sky. Some favorites included the old growth redwoods in Muir Woods, Alcatraz, Lombard St., and flying over the Golden Gate Bridge (cue the Full House theme song). Aaron's precision flying allowed us to see Rodin's Thinker through Legion of Honor arch! The landing was the smoothest I've experienced on an aircraft. He really made this experience memorable, and we felt we were in good hands the entire flight.

Worth every penny. If you have the cash dont miss the flying experience with a great pilot sharing a lot of information what we're seeing. We took the sunset tour, I believe the shorter does the thing as well. tip: Late afternon air is smoother, might disrupt the schedule with the morning fog. It is a must do in frisco.

What an amazing experience at Seaplane Adventures! The staff was extremely helpful in coordinating the timing of my tour leading up to the day. My pilot Nazir was EPIC! Very professional and knowledgeable, he made my day! Also to fly in a vintage dehavilland beaver over San Fran, do I need to say anymore? I highly recommend this company, for their safety and expertise of the area. I look forward to returning again one day. Thanks Seaplane Adventures!

The seaplane adventure with Seaplane Adventures was one of the best things we did during our San Francisco trip. From start to finish, the whole team went above and beyond.Chris organized our private pickup and was so helpful in the lead up to the trip, answering questions and making sure everything was set before we arrived. Sam at the front desk made sure we had everything we needed and then our pilot Nasir was fantastic, genuinely knowledgeable about the area and also fun to be around, and because it ended up being a private flight with just my sister and me on board, it felt like a true VIP experience soaring over the Golden Gate and the city skyline. What really set this apart was the extra care afterward. Chris personally drove us back so we'd make our 3:10 pm ferry, and even texted us hiking and restaurant recommendations for the rest of our time in San Francisco. That kind of thoughtfulness is rare and it's what turns a good tour into a memory you'll treasure for a lifetime. If you're deciding whether to invest in this experience, do it. Between the flight and the people who made it all happen, this is money well invested.

My wife and I enjoyed a sunset champagne flight over the 4th of July weekend and it was spectacular! Flying over Muir Woods, Tiburon, the bay and then right over the city of SF? Wow! Nothing short of amazing. And taking off and landing on the water - so romantic. Aaron and his team are top professionals who deliver a safe, fun, first class experience! Highly recommended!!
